A lovely event hosted by Latinos for Grad, presided over by Gracia Perez and the Latine Artist Collective in support of Dreams United! We were able to form a meaningful connection with the Latinx leaders at NYU through our shared experiences as children of immigrants and the first generation. I am extremely fortunate to have connected with such wonderful people at NYU from diverse backgrounds through our work to uplift immigrant voices at DU. A special thanks to everyone who attended this event; we hope to see you soon!

October 25th 2023
Our first virtual letter writing event at the casa latina hosted by penn for immigrant rights presided by sandra navarro! A special thank you to this wonderful Peruvian-american student for facilitating this event and connecting me via zoom to discuss the importance of support for immigrant children in detention centers. Penn for Immigrant Rights (PIR) is a social and political advocacy group strives to educate Penn’s campus and the Philadelphia community through demonstrations and workshops that seek to dismantle misconceptions about immigration. We also manage and fundraise the Penn for Immigrant Rights Scholarship, which awards a yearly scholarship to an immigrant student in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.

spoke at columbia university's chicanx caucus letter of love writing event that brought together a multitude of latinx students on campus
October 4th 2023
We had the pleasure of hosting a letters of love writing event at Columbia University with the chicanx caucus. Students from Columbia and Barnard joined us in the Hamilton building for a wonderful evening filled with story-telling and joy. as the founder of Dreams United, i was amazed by the publicity the event got on campus, as a high school student being able to share my story and captivate the attention of the highly spirited and intelligent individuals truly made me realize the power ones voice harnesses. Chicanx Caucus seeks to provide its members who self-identify as Chicanx, Mexican or Mexican-American with an environment that helps them fulfill their educational goals, promotes their cultural consciousness and advocates for them serving the needs of their community. The group's mission statement is to inform Chicanos from every region of the United States about higher educational opportunities.Thank you once again to the chicanx caucus club leader xavier for welcoming us so warmly!

MeeTING with the Student Community Of Progressive Empowerment (SCOPE) AT the university of MICHIGAN !
September 27th 2023
Dreams United is very thankful to have the scope group at UMICH on board with our letters of love writing campaigns. Student Community of Progressive Empowerment (SCOPE) is a student group at the University of Michigan that works to assist and serve undocumented and DACAmented (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students. SCOPE allows undocumented students to connect, form peer connections, and collaborate to manage their college experience. We are happy to have contacted and met with such a passionate group of young students who share the same ambition to grow and empower our Latinx community.
The scope group hosted a writing event at the OAMI Student Activities Bldg, this past Wednesday, September 25th, inviting students to write letters of love and support for immigrant children in shelters. I had the pleasure of meeting Hector Galvan (Assistant Director), Sandra Perez, and Karla on Friday, September 27th.
Thank you very much, SCOPE, for this opportunity; I can't wait to collaborate on future projects with you!
